S2 Architects was founded in 1986 with a primary focus on single and multi-family residential rehab and new construction projects. This interest in residential commissions continues through to the present, as well as being blended with a select number of commercial and commercial interiors projects. The general mission that drives the firms work has been to work with like-minded clients in the development of creative and unique solutions to their architectural projects, and to serve as facilitators to help to make their dreams become a reality.
The firms founding Principals, Nancy Schlosberg & John Shuttleworth, are both licensed Architects with more than twenty years of architectural experience. Prior to the founding of S2 Architects, both Principals did their internships and worked as Project Architects for prominent local architectural firms on a variety of residential, commercial, commercial interiors & mixed-use projects.
Ms Schlosberg's focus within the firm has been to apply her strengths and practical experience to all aspects of a projects lifecycle, with a primary focus on zoning and code analysis, budget and cost analysis, construction documentation and contract administration. Mr Shuttleworth is typically involved throughout the course of each project with a focus on conceptual design, design development, construction documentation, product selections and design issues that arise during contract adminstration.
The firm has purposely stayed small, taking on a limited number of projects at a time, and with more of a hands-on approach to all aspects of a project. We feel that our clients, and their projects, benefit greatly from the personal attention and experience brought to bear by our direct involvement.
